Totoro 5

The characters come to life beautifully in vivid colour.

The heartfelt storylines and enchanting animated characters from Studio Ghibli continue to inspire people around the world, including one talented artist from France, 25 year-old Louise Terrier, who’s put brush to paper and created a series of amazing scenes filled with colour and a dash of anime-style magic. Let’s take a look at some of her mesmerising works below.

There’s Laputa, the floating world from Castle in the Sky

A beautiful aerial view that captures all the action of the flight scenes in Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind.

And there’s a beautiful image from The Wind Rises.

This work, entitled “Prends ma main”/”Take my hand”, features the smiling star of the Academy Award-winning film The Tale of the Princess Kaguya.

A series of paintings of Totoro from My Neighbour Totoro capture all the magic and wonder from the original film.

Now, he has a new friend called Hannah to play with.

No Face from Spirited Away, looks positively happy surrounded by colourful baubles at Christmas time.

And joining him for the celebrations is Jiji the cat from Kiki’s Delivery Service.

Terrier’s Studio Ghibli-themed Christmas card range is absolutely gorgeous!

These postcards look ready to be mounted in pretty picture frames.

Terrier is particularly talented when it comes to conjuring up imaginative scenes filled with Ghibli characters.

The attention to detail in all her paintings is remarkably impressive.

With dozens of unique Ghibli-themed works in her portfolio, we’re sure we’ll be seeing more of her beautiful anime-style images soon. Be sure to follow the artist on Facebook for more updates.
