Stylish satchel looks like a book of spells and is specifically sized to hold manga.
A while back, we took a look at the Wizard Parka from Japanese themed fashion label Itemya, which lets wearers turn the hooded zip-up sweatshirt into a dramatically stylish robe that’s a great addition to the wardrobe of any well-dressed mage, witch, or enchanter. But while the Wizard Parka has two pockets sewn into the front of the garment, you’ll probably still need more carrying capacity if you’re heading out for a full day of hanging out with friends or gathering ingredients for whatever potions you’re planning to brew this month.
Thankfully, you can keep the sorcery motif going by carrying your stuff in the brand-new Grimoire Bag.
The messenger-style bag’s strap allows you to sling it over your shoulder or hang it on your hips. Made of a cotton/polyester blend, the “cover” and “spine” bear runic markings and hexagrams.
Peel back the Velcro-sealed flap, and inside book of incantations you’ll find multiple compartments to keep your stuff organized. At 25,7 centimeters (10.1 inches) long and 18.2 centimeters wide, an issue of one of Japan’s huge weekly manga anthologies will fit comfortably.
▼ Given its cosplay potential, we don’t think it’s going too far out on a limb to guess that a lot of people in the market for a Grimoire Bag are also anime/manga fans.
Domestic orders can be placed through the Village Vanguard online shop here, where the Grimoire Bag is priced at 6,264 yen (US$61).
