Pokémon Go launched in Japan on Friday, allowing Yu-Gi-Oh! manga creator Kazuki Takahashi to join the craze. Takahashi created a three-part piece of art to show his enthusiasm for the game, saying that he’s already walked 10 kilometers and has managed to catch a Pikachu.
The images are from an “alternate world,” he says, but even there “it seems Battle City is a big deal.”
Mai and Ishizu apparently came prepared for the wrong game.
Last week, Yūsuke Kozaki, the character designer for Fire Emblem: Awakening and BBK/BRNK, also posted a special Pokémon Go-themed image on his Twitter page, celebrating that the game was “finally” released in Japan. It’s not just that Kozaki is a fan of the game, though—he worked on some of the game’s character designs. In his post he says he hopes that everyone will enjoy the characters he created along their journey.
