Square-Enix is offering this adorable, limited edition slime hourglass for Dragon Quest series fans with the munchies. The company says the hourglass is timed at about three minutes, which is around the same amount of time it takes to perfectly cook a cup of instant ramen noodles.
We take it this is great news for players, as ramen is universally recognized to be the perfect geek chow for late night gaming sessions and long-haul power leveling.
“Please don’t kill me! I have a family.”
The slime, who is a low level enemy in the Dragon Quest series, has long been the go-to series mascot due to its oddly likeable persona and endearing grin, although we wonder why its uber-cute visage doesn’t leave players conflicted about bashing its face with medieval weaponry. We’ve always wondered what the poor slime did to deserve getting slaughtered en mass by every Dragon Quest hero to date, but we suppose its ubiquitous presence must indicate it’s some kind of invasive species in the Dragon Quest world.
Maybe with this unbearably cute hourglass nearby, you may find yourself avoiding combat with the adorable slimes in-game, at least while you wait for your noodles to cook.
