It’s been a tough few years for Nintendo. Although the 3DS continues to sell very well, its home console Wii U has barely even registered on consumers’ radar since debuting in 2012, and even long-time fans are becoming increasingly restless between big releases. Thankfully, the latter half of 2014 looks set to be a little sunnier for Nintendo, with the recently released Mario Kart 8 reportedly quadrupling Wii U sales, and now Tecmo Koei’s Zelda/Dynasty Warriors mashup Hyrule Warriors looks set to be one of the biggest titles of the summer.
As well as updating its official Hyrule Warriors website with new screens earlier today, developer Tecmo Koei has released a video showing none other than Princess Zelda smashing her way through hordes of enemies and showing off her skills.
Gorgeous pics and the full video after the jump.
Showcasing new battlegrounds and characters including Twilight Princess‘ Midna and new faces Lana and Agitha, Tecmo Koei is slowly revealing its full roster of playable characters and enemies through a series of startlingly pretty screenshots.
Check this little lot out:
Not bad for an “underpowered” console, right?
Tecmo Koei also dropped a new video on its official YouTube channel yesterday featuring Princess Zelda, whom it would appear will also arm herself with not just a blade of her own, but also the Bow of Light in the game.
The proof is, of course, in the playing, but if the footage and stills we’ve seen so far are any indication, I think it might finally be time to pick up a Wii U. Besides, that Triforce clock for special edition buyers is just too gorgeous to miss.
Head over to the game’s official page for more info and pics.
