Though the game’s release is still a long way off, fans were treated to some exciting new footage of Kingdom Hearts III at Shonen Jump’s annual celebration.
Kingdom Hearts fans have been officially waiting for the next installment since 2013, but they’ve been unofficially waiting since Kingdom Hearts II was released in 2006.
A new official trailer for Kingdom Hearts 2.8 dropped at Jump Festa 2016 showing new footage for the final Kingdom Hearts game, which will allow its fans to play all the released games in glorious HD. More important, though, is the two minutes of video at the end that shows some brand new Kingdom Hearts III gameplay.

According to the description in the video, Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue contains the newly remastered Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, the cinematics from Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ and a special all new chapter that takes place after the events of Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep.
▼ We love seeing our favorite characters in HD.
The Kingdom Hearts III footage shows off the new Attraction Flow Attack, but fans should also be happy to see how familiar the gameplay is.

There is still no official release date for Kingdom Hearts III, but fans can still continue to hope that it will “dream drop” sometime in 2016. Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue will see a release in 2016, so there are plenty of Kingdom Hearts installments that you can enjoy in HD while you wait for the inevitable release of Kingdom Hearts III.
