Boutique figure maker Gecco introduces an ultra-detailed statue of Venom Snake from Metal Gear Solid V that will lighten your wallet and make you weep tears of nerd joy.
Metal Gear Solid V was a great game, but as the continuous cycle of AAA game releases marches on, the title has lost a bit of relevancy of late. Maybe this hyper-detailed Venom Snake statue from Gecco – a boutique manufacturer specializing in lovingly crafted pop culture figures – will get series fans drooling again.
If your eyes aren’t already rolling into the back of your head in sheer orgasmic anticipation, thus rendering you unable to further read this article, let’s take an in-depth look at what makes this particular Venom Snake model special:
According to Gecco, the statue sports realistic skin texture (it’s uncertain if this means realistic to the touch or just visually, but we don’t have the US$300 to find out). All of Snake’s accessories here are faithfully hand-crafted to reflect the in-game character model, and the statue even features a removable desert operations scarf.
Finally, and maybe most importantly, those that pre-order the Venom Snake figure will also receive an equally detailed D-Dog puppy statue to accompany the hero, complete with a missing eye – but, unfortunately, it seems, no eye patch.
For once, it appears, this neat Japanese-made product is available for international shipping. You can snag one – so long as you’re not bothered by the admittedly eye-searingly high price point – over at Gecco’s site right here. While you’re at it, you might also want to check out this Sniper Wolf figure from Kotobukiya, too.
