Shinjuku Station has been transformed for a limited time with anime girls on pylons and stages and huge animated digital LED displays!
The Tokyo Metro Promenade area that runs below ground at Shinjuku Station is proving to be one of the most popular spots in the city for some weird and wonderful promotional activities. We’ve seen everything from Psycho Pass motion sensor screens to huge Yu-Gi-Oh! displays and even a giant back cat that gave out free gifts. Now, for a limited time, the area will be covered with cute girls from The Idolmaster game series.

The promotion has been set up to celebrate the first anniversary of the popular Idolmaster Cinderella Girls: Starlight Stage mobile game. An 80-metre (262-foot) stretch along the promenade, which connects the station entrance to the Marunouchi subway line, now greets commuters with dozens of characters from the series.

Enthusiastic fans who might be tempted to join in and interact with the characters are cautioned with a sign that says “Please Don’t Touch the Display” and “Please Don’t Wave Penlights”.
