You can’t play baseball if you’re afraid of getting dirty.
Shinjuku Station is very popular with both locals and tourists, which makes it one of the best places in Japan for companies to advertise products using creative stuff like gigantic black cats or a Yu-Gi-Oh! card museum.
Commercials for new games can also be found there, but Twitter user @KinpatuNoRyofu was caught by surprise one day when he saw one using an intriguing art style, featuring mobile baseball game Hachigatsu no Cinderella Nine.
▼ On the banner were the words, “Do you like girls who give it their all?”

▼ Five characters from the game were displayed in various poses,
all drawn with liberal use of dirt as paint.

▼ News quickly spread through the Internet,
causing some netizens to rush down and record videos of the awesome artwork.

Available on Apple and Android devices, Hachigatsu no Cinderella Nine is perfect for those who love cute anime girls and baseball.
▼ Gameplay features collecting different players,
leveling up their skills, and playing ball!
▼ Hachigatsu no Cinderella Nine also has a TV anime,
the trailer of which can be seen here.
Japanese netizens went nuts over the cool advertisement:
“This is fantastic!”
“It’s really all dirt? Wow!”
“They really went all out on this.”
“It would have been perfect if it was dirt from a stadium like Koshien.”
What a great statement to make for a mobile game using that space, showing us that these anime girls are not afraid to roll, dive, and slide on dirt in the name of baseball.
We can’t wait to see what kind of cool stuff will appear in that particular stretch of Shinjuku Station next. Hopefully something just as exciting as this, or that time when Goku, Luffy and Naruto gave the wall a good smashing too.
