Another reason to visit Taiwan, without missing out on your gaming fix.
It seems that gaming couples in Asia are well catered for when it comes to their big day, with Pokémon marriage certificates and the ability to hire out game arcades so that they can tie the knot while kicking six bells out of each other. But what to do for their honeymoon? Or, for that matter, where can us unmarried gamers go on holiday without having to be prised away from our beloved gaming devices? Taiwan’s i hotel Taoyuan, a hotel open to all, but seemingly designed with gamers in mind, may be the answer.
Take a look at the video below for a walk-through of the hotel’s facilities:
▼ The hotel’s main gaming arena allows for tournament-style match-ups between teams.

▼ Game in futuristic style and comfort, or pretend you’re on the set of a TV game show.

▼ As well as beds and showers, the rooms come with equally necessary gaming stations, and opposite the beds are 46-inch TVs.
▼ Take some time out for vital sustenance, or speak to your friends/loved ones/fellow gamers face-to-face, away from the gaming area.
The i hotel is located close to Taoyuan International Airport, and about an hour’s train ride away from Taipei. While the rooms might be a tad compact and windowless, the hotel more than makes up for it with the stylish decor and the main gaming room, with the hotel claiming to be “Asia’s No. 1 E-sport hotel”. If you’re in the area, you don’t even need to spend the night. The i hotel, like a love hotel for gamers (or in fact fairly often, non-gaming lovers), offers hourly rates. A short stay might also be the best idea, if you think you might actually like to see some of Taiwan while you’re there.
