Dozens of beautiful women give Mr. Sato an unforgettable day in the real world.

This week, video game developers from around the world are gathering in Chiba Prefecture’s Makuhari Messe for the Tokyo Game Show. While the show doesn’t open to the general public until Saturday, the show officially kicked off on Thursday for industry exhibitors and media guests.

When our shiny press pass arrived in the SoraNews24 offices, we were all excited, but no one more so than our crack reporter Mr. Sato. Before anyone else could lay a finger on the badge, Mr. Sato snatched it up and headed for the door with a big smile on his face, despite his heretofore-expressed passion for video games being best described as “modest.”

Upon returning, Mr. Sato handed us his camera, and looking through his photos we found that he followed the same strategy he’d used when covering the Tokyo Auto Salon for us: two snapshots of the venue…

…and many, many photographs of booth models.

That’s not to say there weren’t any games in any of his photos. For example, if you look closely at the background here, you’ll see some sort of racing game on the monitor.

But for the most part, it was pretty clear where Mr. Sato’s attention was.

▼ Capcom’s costumes were reminiscent of boxing ring girls, a fitting choice for the maker of the Street Fighter series.

While plenty of the outfits were skimpy, not all of them were simply designed for maximum sexiness. This being a video game trade show, many of the models were dressed in garb evocative of the characters and settings of the games they were promoting.

And Final Fantasy developer Square Enix kept its tops chaste, substituting a Chocobo for swaths of exposed flesh.

DMM Games, local publisher of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, seemingly took inspiration from the open-necked dress shirt of the game’s cover boy, although its models didn’t also don his face-obscuring helmet.

The company also publishes the Korean-made Destiny Child, which is where this cat-girl hails from.

However, and this really should go without saying, all those dazzling smiles didn’t really mean the models had fallen in love with Mr. Sato.

But they did at least make him feel like a king for a day…

…and for that, he’ll always be thankful.
