Itasha, or “pain mobile,” is a Japanese word that refers to a car that is so nerdy, it’s painfully embarrassing to even look at. If a car actually had the ability to cause pain with a single glance, this BMW, with full-body paint and decals featuring otaku-worshipped vocaloid, Hatsune Miku, is enough to put you in the hospital.
This itasha is a BMW Z4 GT3, the eight-cylinder racing version of the commercially available BMW Z4. It is currently being shown for a limited time at the Tokyo BMW Group Studio near Tokyo Station.
According to representatives at the BMW Group Studio, this Hatsune Miku BMW was created by the “GSR & Studie with TeamUKYO” racing team and competes along side the Super-GT GT300 2012. Not only does it look good, this car can kick some ass on the pavement.
The BMW Group Studio isn’t an actual car dealership, just a showroom, so even those who aren’t looking to purchase a car can enter and view the Hatsune Miku BMW. The car will be exhibited until December 13, so hurry on over to catch a glimpse of a car that’s sure to make at least a few people cringe in pain.
