Creators can be inspired by anything and everything around them. It could be a sight, a sound, a person, or even a website. Italy-based artist and design student Victor Faretina created a series of dresses inspired by some famous websites, titled Web in Vogue.
As people working on and for the Internet, we spend an awful lot of time surfing websites, but the idea of wearing a website certainly hasn’t crossed our minds. However, these amazing gowns designed by Victor are definitely making us look at the websites we visit daily in a different light!
I studied interior design for three years, and one of my assignments was to design a studio apartment based on a subject of our choice. At that point I was crazily hooked on to the anime and manga series The Prince of Tennis, and decided to use that as my inspiration for my design. Let’s just say it didn’t turn out exceptionally well… which probably explains why I’m now working with words instead of shapes and lines.
But 22-year-old Victor (also known as Neko-Vi on DeviantArt), on the other hand, is incredibly talented and has managed to transform some of the biggest websites in cyberspace into (assumingly) wearable, stunning dresses! Not only did he stylishly make use of the branding colors of each website, his attention to detail sure is something worth scrutinizing the images for. If the Internet was a woman, here’s a peek into her wardrobe!
I never thought I’d ever say this but… which website would you most like to wear? I’m rather torn between MSN and Livejournal. Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below!
Now I’m beginning to wonder what RocketNews24 would look like as a dress! To see more of Victor’s fabulous work, visit his DeviantArt page, or follow him on Tumblr to check out his stylish fashion coordinates!
