Every pokémon trainer has their special pokémon. Whether it’s one of the starter pokémon that you kept with you all over the Kanto region, or one of the hundreds of pokémon you can catch along the way, there is always that one particular friend that you just can’t bear to leave in storage.
If you’d like to immortalize your poképal, or if you are just a fan of the Pokémon anime or video games, then you have to take a look at these one of a kind pokéballs on Etsy that will crystallize the memory of your pokémon forever.
Although it doesn’t seem like these products are licensed by Nintendo, you are still going to want to get your pokéhands on them. Artist PokeMasterCrafter has an Etsy store set up selling crystal pokéballs with a pocket monster etched in the middle. You might think this is just frivolous junk, but wait until you actually see them.
▼ Alakazam
▼ Scyther
▼ Eevee
Here’s the bad news, PokeMasterCrafter is currently sold out. He’s not taking any orders at the moment, but hopefully he will be returning soon. Normally, PokeMasterCrafter charges between US$70-$80 for each Pokéball, which seems like a steal for fans of the series.
▼ Mew
▼Mewtwo
At the moment, the only thing you can see on the Etsy page are reviews posted by extremely happy customers. They praise the crystal, the clarity of the Pokémon, the lights and pretty much everything about the product. At this point, we are just waiting for PokéMasterCrafter to start taking orders again.
The details for this amazing collectible are best explained using PokéMasterCrafter’s own words, take it away:
“Each Poke ball is made of a high grade k9 crystal the same material used in high end home decor. The crystal is carved into a 80mm diameter(baseball size) ball and has fine point 3d laser engraving done to it. Using the latest in 3d engraving technologies we burn the image straight into the crystal. This laser is 5 times more precise than traditional 3d engraving to offer amazing detail and realism to each Pokémon. We then hand press a flat glass button to offer a protruding effect to the ball and then hand paint black rings to offer more depth and detail to the poke ball.”
▼ Arcanine
▼ Dragonite
▼ And of course, Pikachu!
This seems exactly the sort of thing that Nintendo would put their foot down for as this screams copyright infringement, but a lovingly crafted piece of art like this should be shared with the fans. If you are looking for the best present for a Pokéfan, you don’t have to look much further than this. PokéMasterCrafter, we choose you!
