Many people that work a weekday 9-5 job consider Mondays to be the bane of their existence. Unsurprisingly, there doesn’t seem to be a lot of love for that first day back to the office after a fun weekend.
But for those caught in rush hour traffic this past Monday in Thailand, it was anything but dull and monotonous thanks to a shooting star sighting caught on camera by a number of drivers on their way to work.
The “falling star” was seen lighting up the morning sky on September 7, at approximately 8:40 a.m. local time.
Those with dashboard cameras were able to catch the meteor from different angles, and videos of the sighting were quickly uploaded to various social media sites.
While some of those lucky enough to catch the phenomenon first-hand were busy making wishes, not everyone was happy about the event. More than a few superstitious commenters believed the chunk of rock from outer space was clearly a premonition of worse things yet to come.
Admittedly shooting stars aren’t always as beautiful as they look from afar, considering the damage suffered in Russia last year when a meteor exploded in mid-air, leaving many injured. Fortunately there have been no injuries reported so far from any of the areas in Thailand where this recent one was spotted.
We imagine for at least four seconds that morning, anyone suffering from the case of the Mondays had something better to occupy their minds with.
