Everyone knows the story of Cinderella, right? It’s a classic tale of a young woman who’s transformed into the most enchanting lady in the kingdom when her fairy godmother shows up and gives her a beautiful dress, loose-fitting footwear, and a pair of shapely, ample breasts.
Wait, that last part actually isn’t in the traditional version of the fairy tale. Nevertheless, one Tokyo-based cosmetic surgery clinic is offering something it calls the Cinderella Breast Augmentation procedure, which can increase your bust size by up to one and a half cups. But just like Cinderella’s magic ended at the stroke of midnight, so too do your breasts return to their normal size the next day.
The Cinderella Breast Augmentation is offered by the Tokyo Isea Clinic, which has branches in Tokyo’s Shibuya, Ginza, and Azabu neighborhoods, as well as a fourth location in far-off Niigata City. On its website, Isea acknowledges that some women may want to have a larger bust, but be apprehensive about rushing into permanent surgery. The clinic has therefore been offering its Cinderella Breast Augmentation since 2012 as a way to experience the effects of having a larger bust on a temporary basis in order to help clients better understand where their cosmetic surgery tastes lie.
Instead of implants, the procedure uses a lactated ringer’s solution. A mixture of water, lactic acid, and electrolytes, the substance is close in composition to human bodily fluids. The solution is harmless, and is often used in treating patients suffering from dehydration or blood loss.
The solution is injected into the chest using an IV, and the extra fluids produce a larger, fuller bosom. Local anesthesia is used to minimize discomfort, and since no cutting of the skin is involved, the procedure won’t leave scars, the clinic says. The insertion of the fluids only takes about 20 minutes, and the effects last for roughly a day as the body absorbs the fluids. Isea’s website currently lists the cost for the Cinderella Breast Augmentation at a mere 5,000 yen (US$42).
The clinic does, however, caution clients on a few points. Playing sports or engaging in similar physical activity will hasten the speed at which the fluids are absorbed, thus causing the breasts to return to their normal size more quickly. Other things that speed up the process are eating, drinking, or excessive touching of the breasts. However, if you don’t have any plans to play softball this weekend, and you’re also confident your date isn’t the particularly grabby type, reservations for the Cinderella Breast Augmentation can be made here through Tokyo Isea Clinic’s website.
