When art meets goldfish, it’s a beautiful thing.
Art Aquarium, if you haven’t had the chance to see it yet, is a beautiful spectacle to behold. An exhibit that has gained a lot of popularity over the years, Art Aquarium combines uniquely shaped fish tanks with ever-changing colored lights and music to create a mystical atmosphere as an array of beautiful goldfish dance through the water.
Whether you’ve been to the exhibit before and want to experience the magic again or haven’t yet had the opportunity, you can now enjoy it in your own home. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the opening of Art Aquarium, a miniature version of the aquarium has been released bring the soothing, mysterious atmosphere of the exhibit to the comfort and privacy of your living room — or whatever room you prefer!

You’ll be able to choose from the calico ryūkin goldfish version or the ryūkin mix version. Both are 18-sided prisms which contain the cutest little ryūkin goldfish replicas, that float around in their “Prisrium F18” aquarium, as LED lights glow and change colors from red, blue, green, and pink. The base of the aquarium also acts as a speaker, playing the song “Prisrium” which is used exclusively at the Art Aquarium exhibit.
The miniature home aquarium will go on sale from August 11 from Sega Toys for 4,800 yen (USD$44.75). If you happen to be in the Tokyo or Osaka area, you can purchase one ahead of time at the exhibits starting in July, or you can preorder one now at Yahoo! Japan Shopping. The site does offer overseas shipping but is in Japanese only so you will need your language skills or a Japanese-speaking friend to help you navigate.
