Body pillows have been continuously evolving since they first appeared on the Japanese market some years ago, expanding to include anime character pillowcases and even giant twintails. Now there’s a new hug pillow set to hit the market, with a pair of wrap-around legs that’s blowing everyone’s minds online.

The idea for the unusual product came about in May this year, when Twitter user @mizuryu came up with this clever sketch detailing his idea for the perfect hug pillow.

After posting his idea for the design online, Full Graphic Factory, a Japanese T-shirt manufacturing company, got in touch with @mizuryu, asking if they could work with him to bring the idea to life. Not long after, they created this prototype.

After several months of discussion and collaboration, the pillow was successfully manufactured, with three different pieces being used to create the final product.
