This gadget attempts to solve your procrastination problems and help you focus to get the job done.
Ever had a really big test to study for or an important assignment due and just found yourself too distracted to even start? Or have you ever spent way too much time on your phone you end up wasting half the night away without doing anything productive? Now there’s a container that helps even the most helpless of us put down the distractions and do what we have to do.
Japan is always on the front line when it comes to new gadgets that are cool and useful to our everyday lives, so you can simply put your phone, game controllers or any other distractions into the box, set the time you have in mind to do what you have to do and you’re all set!
最近スマホをついつい触りすぎて時間を浪費してることに危機感を覚えて、「設定した時間の間は絶対にあけられない箱」を買ったんだけど、これ思ったよりもずっと仕事がはかどるようになるのでオススメです。

Japanese Twitter user @ryogomatsumaru recently shared these photos of his latest purchase: a container with a timer you can set which keeps the lid tightly locked until time’s up.
“Recently, I’ve been wasting too much time fiddling with my smartphone, and it’s getting dangerous. So I bought the container, and it’s been even more helpful than I’d expected in making me get some work done.
Totally recommending this for people who can’t stop fiddling with their phones or who easily get distracted at work!”
Maybe the best part about @ryogomatsumaru’s plan is that if he wants to open it before the container before the timer is up, he’d have to break it open with a hammer. The model of container he bought sells for 22,982 yen (US$211) on Amazon Japan, though, and the hefty investment should help him resist the temptation to shatter the casing to get at his treasures locked inside before the proper time.
So, if you’re looking for something to help keep you on task and you have some money to spare, try it out and tell us if it’s worth it. In the meantime for those of you who get sleepy during the day, may we recommend this body-zapping device to go along with the productivity package?
