With just a few weeks to go until its launch in Japan, Nintendo has begun streaming an introductory ad for its new, analogue nub-toting 3DS.
Check out the video in full after the jump.
Due to go on sale in Japan from October 11, the New Nintendo 3DS and its larger sibling, the New Nintendo 3DS LL, boast not just a more powerful processor but feature two additional shoulder buttons and – after nearly a decade of consumers asking for one – a miniature analogue stick on the right side of the console, which can be used to perform actions such as moving an in-game camera. The portables also feature an improved 3-D display, allowing players to view their screen from a wider range of angles without the image blurring.
Here’s Nintendo’s ad in full:
▼ Camera control is finally just a grey nub away!
▼ Nintendo’s NFC “Amiibo” figures will be a big part of the new console
▼ Sadly not available for the larger model, interchangeable faceplates will be available for New 3DS at launch. These wood-effect ones look gorgeous.
The New Nintendo 3DS and 3DS LL will retail for 16,000 yen (US$150) and 18,800 yen, respectively. As with previous 3DS models, the handhelds will, sadly, be region locked, so unless you happen to live in Australia or New Zealand where the console will launch on November 21, those outside Japan will have to wait until next year to get their hands on the new portable.
