Everyone knows that Tokyo Disney Resort is a magical place, right? Well, we’re happy to report that this fall Disney Japan will be bringing some of their magic outside their kingdom to central Tokyo. It was recently announced that a very special photo exhibit hosted by Tokyo Disney Resort in conjunction with Fuji Film and major Japanese publishing company Kodansha is coming to the Tokyo Midtown complex in Roppongi. And based on the information that’s been released, the “Imagining the Magic — Moments of Dream and Enchantment” photo exhibit looks set to be a real visual treat!
The exhibit, which will be held in the Fuji Film Square within the shopping/dining/business complex Tokyo Midtown from November 20 to December 2, will showcase Tokyo Disney Resort-themed photos and works of art that have been featured in the Resort’s blog each month since July this year.
Each work is a tribute to the many moments of magic that can be found in Tokyo Disney Resort. Below are just a few examples from among the over 90 beautiful photos and pieces of art that will be on display at the exhibit.
▼ This photo by Herbie Yamaguchi shows the familiar Disney characters waiting for the arrival of guests before the park opens:
▼ Here’s a photo by Naoki Honjo portraying the Park from a unique perspective that makes it look like a miniature world:
▼ There are also photos by Kazuyoshi Miyoshi showing the playful side of our Disney friends.
▼ This gorgeous piece by Asami Kiyokawa has delicate embroidery and beads stitched onto a photo of Cinderella and the iconic Disney castle named after her, the three-dimensional additions making the magic feel that much more real.
Now, doesn’t that whet your appetite for more beautiful art that gives you a taste of the fantastical world that we’ve come to associate with Disney? If you’re lucky enough to visit the exhibit, you’ll be treated to many other enchanting works including pictures by photographer Orie Ichihashi as well as official Tokyo Disney Resort photographers and Kodansha photographers who have worked on numerous editions of past Tokyo Disney Resort guidebooks. The exhibit will be free to the public, so it may well be worth checking out if you’re going to be in the Tokyo area while it’s on. For fans, it could be a delightful chance to see the Disney characters in a new light!
