The hack and slash game developer has a much more casual day-to-day life than we were expecting.
Goichi Suda, perhaps better known by his tag name Suda51, is the creator and CEO of Grasshopper Manufacture, a Japanese video game developer founded in 1998. The company was the main developer for titles such as Killer7, No More Heroes, No More Heroes 2: Desperate Struggle, Lollipop Chainsaw and Killer Is Dead. Many of these titles topped the sales charts and they are widely love for their style and creative story-telling, which can be directly linked to the imagination of Suda51. Get a glimpse of this revered video game developer/CEO’s everyday life as he also chats about how his characters think and how he sees the world.
A lot of things that appear in Suda51’s normal life seems to make their way into his games. Hardcore fans will remember a batting cage fitting into the very first game he ever published.
Suda51 himself likes to visit the cages each day to give himself some time alone to collect his thoughts.
Throughout the Grasshopper Manufacture offices you can find plenty of game paraphernalia in all the nooks and crannies!
Suda51 likes to unwind at his favorite bar, which appears to be as eclectic as he is. No More Heroes fans will recognize the location, BPM, as the bar exists in the game as well.
▼ Doesn’t look like you’ll fit too many people in this establishment.
The video kindly lists all of the places that Suda51 visits that day, so fans can make a pilgrimage to all the different locations around Tokyo. Maybe you’ll be lucky enough to run into the man himself! Check out more “day in the life of” videos on the toco toco tv YouTube channel where they’ve followed artists, comedians, composers and more.
