Super Mario Run will be Mario’s first adventure into the mobile gaming world.
Nintendo have released two Super Mario Run videos just prior to next week’s official game launch, which is set for global release on December 15. The first is an introduction to Super Mario Run gameplay giving us a quick rundown of how to control Mario on your mobile:
Alternatively you can check out the Japanese version here:
Nintendo has also released a live-action concept teaset for the game.
The new mobile Mario can be controlled with one hand. “Mario constantly runs forward, while you time your taps to pull off stylish jumps and moves to gather coins and reach the goal!”

There will be four playable characters: Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Yoshi.
▼ Play as Yoshi
The one possible downside to this game is the price, which will set you back quite a pretty coin. It will cost 1,200 yen in Japan, US$9.99 in America, AU$14.99 in Australia, and GBP7.99 in the United Kingdom. You can check out the prices here for your country.
Super Mario Run will have three modes: World Tour, Toad Rally, and Kingdom Builder.
World Tour is your standard Mario play where you have to collect coins and rescue the Princess from the evil Bowser. “Travel though plains, caverns, Ghost Houses, airships, castles, and more… Clear 6 Worlds filled with 24-brand-new courses designed for one-handed play!”
Toad Rally is a new game format where you can compete against your friends or people from all over the world to get the highest score – the types of challenges vary each time. To play Toad Rally you have to collect Rally Tickets in bonus games or by clearing worlds. If you perform well enough Toads may come to live with you in your kingdom.
In Kingdom Builder you can build your own unique kingdom “with buildings and decorations that you acquire with coins collected in World Tour and Toad Rally challenges”.
So what do you think about Mario’s move to a mobile platform? Do you think the price will be worth it?
