Clever garments let you dip your toes into body art aesthetics while skipping the pain and poking.
As a dedicated fashion designer, Yuri Yumetsuki takes great pains creating cute fashions. That doesn’t mean there’s any pain involved in wearing her latest offering, however.
Yumetsuki’s Corset Piercing-Style Stockings line serves a dual purpose, providing coverage for the wearer’s legs while also pulling off a bit of visual trickery. At a glance, they make it look like the wearer is showing off some impressive corset piercing body art, in which a ribbon is laced through the piercings for an effect that’s eye-catchingly regal to behold, but no doubt painful to undergo the process for.
However, Yumetsuki’s stockings spare your skin the punctures by having the ribbons attached to the see-through material.
The lacing is loose enough to allow for some bounce and sway as the wearer walks, as shown in the video below.
The line provides for plenty of variation to suit individual preferences. For starters, you can choose from five different ribbon colors: sky blue, white, wine, purple, and black.
In addition to the thigh-high ribbon version, there’s a separate design that moves the colorful cords down below the knees instead.
If you’re liking the feminine look of all those ribbons, but the simulated piercing aspect isn’t your cup of tea, there’s also a black stocking variant, which makes the ribbons look more like the cosmetic garment additions that they really are.
Each version of the stockings is priced at 6,264 yen (US$56) and can be ordered here from novelty retailer Village Vanguard, with shipping scheduled for early April.
