Officially called, “Stunning Black and White Fortress,” this pair of burgers, one white and one black, is being sold for a limited time only at McDonald’s in Taiwan. The name alone made our reporter want to try this duo, but how would these unnaturally colored burgers taste?
A very unique burger
Just because of its strangeness, our reporter had to try the Black and White Burger, but he was taking a gamble on the taste. How did they get the buns to be such an eerily dark black and unnatural white? He took his first hesitant bite.
The black burger: Bad aftertaste and too much salt
We can’t say that these burgers were delicious. The black burger has a traditional McDonald’s patty, but had a sharp peppery taste and came with a salty sauce that left a bad taste in our reporter’s mouth. The sauce overpowered the entire burger.
The white burger: Charbroiled flavor, but that sauce!
The white burger came with a charbroiled chicken breast, which peaked our reporter’s interest. However, the sauce had an unrefined taste that made our reporter lose his appetite. The taste actually reminded him of a McDonald’s burger that he tried on his trip to China.
The vertict: Too moist, unappetizing
Both of the black and white buns were horrible. They were too soggy and had a springy texture that didn’t go well with the meat. The overly moist quality of the buns made it nearly unpalatable. Overall, our reporter deemed the Stunning Black and White Fortress set a very unfortunate pair of burgers.
At least he got to have some curly fries…
