Ever been so enamoured with someone that you simply couldn’t stop kissing them? Of course you have; you read RocketNews24! But what if both you and your fellow face-munching lover are glasses wearers? Isn’t it annoying when your frames keep clacking and bumping together?
Thankfully, Tokyo-based glasses maker Blinc Vase has the solution!
Featuring two sets of temples (I’ve been wearing glasses since I was about 11 and have always just called them ‘arms’…), these specs can apparently be worn by two people–putting their faces extremely close together–at once, thus enabling them to kiss while still being able to see one another’s giant eyes with perfect clarity.
Now, most Japanese have pretty small noses, but even so I’m guessing that only one person could pop their sniffer through the glasses’ bridge at any one time, meaning that the other will always have the glasses sitting crooked on their face. Thankfully, though, it’s very likely that these specs were created mainly for marketing purposes and Blinc Vase isn’t planning to sell too many pairs. After all, as well as being massively impractical, the glasses reportedly retail for a whopping 68,000 yen (US$620) each, making them one awfully pricey gag gift.
Still, genuine product or not, at least we got a cute promo video out of it.
