If you ever needed proof that you can buy happiness…

Not all music boxes were created equal. Take these precious capsule-like music boxes, for example, which contain miniature characters from some of Studio Ghibli’s more popular animated films, dancing along with music from the movies.

The first of three music boxes contains Jiji and Lily, from Kiki’s Delivery Service, with their two kittens, playing adorably on a broomstick and with a butterfly as the ending song from the movie, “Yasashisa ni tsutsumareta nara,” plays.

There is also a music box for Ponyo, with Ponyo swimming with some of her siblings and a boat, featuring the movie’s theme “Ponyo on the Cliff by the Sea”.

Finally is everyone’s favorite Totoro, with his umbrella, a soot sprite, and a mini white Totoro moving along to the well-known “Tonari no Totoro” theme song from the movie.

While the Ponyo music box unfortunately doesn’t seem to be on sale at this time, you can purchase the Totoro or Kiki versions from Strapya World for US$54 each.
