Is this the Curse of Sharp in the making?
The multinational electronics corporation Sharp awoke to a stunning discovery the other day. No, they didn’t vote “remain” and find themselves greeted by an entirely new country. Instead, the bronze statue that normally stands outside of their headquarters in Osaka was…not where it was supposed to be.

This wasn’t just any old statue either, it was of Sharp founder, Tokuji Hayakawa, who started his metal working company way back in 1912. Since the statue was made out of bronze, it couldn’t have been easy to move…is it possible it came to life and walked away itself???

It was just moved to our new headquarters in Sakai.”
Turns out it wasn’t a huge Sherlockian mystery. After Taiwanese contract electronic manufacturing company Foxconn Technology Group took over Sharp, they decided to move the headquarters from Abeno-Ward in Osaka City to Sakai City in Osaka Prefecture. Ahead of that move, the founder’s statue was also moved to its new home.
After one Sharp-associated Twitter account tweeted their startling discovery, a different Sharp Twitter account revealed the new location. And millions of fans sighed in relief at the safe “return” of their bronzed leader! Okay, not millions, but some people did at least.
With the restructuring of the company, they might want to take a closer look at intra-office e-mails to prevent any more Twitter reveals such as this.
