Sometimes, in life, you see things you didn’t even know were possible. Fans of the Final Fantasy series will be aware that there are large, ostrich-like bird creatures known as Chocobo, which players can saddle up and ride for a faster way of moving around the game. But you can’t ride a Chocobo in real life… or can you? One man in Kazakhstan was brave enough to become a real-life Chocobo cowboy.

Of course, it’s not really a Chocobo he’s riding — it’s an ostrich — but the video the pair appear in is still taking the Internet by storm.

Let’s set the scene. You’re locked in gridlock traffic in downtown Almaty, Kazahkstan. Just then you see something astounding…

Yes, that’s right. It’s a man astride an ostrich galloping at a startlingly high speed along the highway, darting between cars!

It’s impossible for Final Fantasy fans to see this and not think of Chocobos! Which, we’re sure, makes you incredibly jealous that you don’t have your own magnificent Chocobo (ostrich) to leap onto whenever you feel like avoiding highway traffic. Whoever this man in Kazahkstan is, he has our eternal admiration.
