Huge range of Japanese Kit Kat flavours available at new pop-up museum in Tokyo for limited time

With 18 hard-to-find Kit Kat items on the menu, this is an extremely rare opportunity you won’t want to miss!

High up on the shopping list for many visitors to Japan is the Japanese Kit Kat, in as many flavours as possible, but with no designated store selling the complete range, it can be almost impossible to track down all the different varieties available. Finally, Nestlé Japan is offering all 18 of the Kit Kats currently on the market in one place for a limited time, and it’s all part of the launch celebrations for their latest new release, the “Everyday Luxury Kit Kat”.

▼ The new chocolate, inspired by the Kit Kat Chocolatory’s signature Moleson creation, contains a delicious blend of almonds and cranberries, which is said to give the chocolate a delightfully tart, fresh flavour.

As the first new series to be released in six years, Nestlé Japan is celebrating with a unique pop-up museum located at Nescafe Harajuku, and with so many unusual Kit Kats on the menu and even rarer items on display, we just had to stop by to check it out!

▼ Nescafe Harajuku is located on the same street as the station, just a two-minute walk uphill on the left after exiting.

▼ The Kit Kat Museum will be residing here for a short time only, from 13 – 25 September.

As soon as we stepped inside the brightly lit cafe, we were greeted by a beautiful display of Kit Kats. We’d never seen so many different types in one place before!

All reasonably priced, this is definitely the place to go if you want to shop for the famous chocolate wafers. And the best thing is, you can either enjoy them inside the relaxed cafe space or have them packed up to take home!

▼ One of the most sought after items, of course, is the latest luxury release.

We decided to take a seat inside so we could enjoy the Kit Kat Museum, and as soon as we sat down, we were given a special, limited edition menu not normally available at the cafe.

▼ Using the tablet provided, you can access a couple of options for ordering the Kit Kats.

▼ You can order your favourites individually…

▼ Or you can order a special tasting set by choosing two of your favourites, which will come in individually wrapped servings.

▼ If you’re feeling hungry, there are light meals, drinks and desserts on the menu too.

▼ While you’re waiting for your order to arrive, you can play around with Pepper the robot.

▼ And with free and fast wi-fi available, there’s plenty to keep you entertained in the beautiful space.

After enjoying a cup of coffee, which can be refilled at the coffee machine stand at the centre of the room, we decided to take a look at the items on display inside the glass cases that make up the Kit Kat Museum.

▼ Genuine products from the brand’s early history can be seen, dating all the way back to 1935, when it first launched in England under the name “Rowntree’s Chocolate Crisp”.

This is a unique opportunity to see a huge variety of Japanese Kit Kats all in one place and arranged by the year they were released.

▼ A fluffy “Air In” style featuring green tea…

▼ A Midnight Eagle variety, produced to coincide with the release of the Japanese movie of the same name in 2007…

▼ And a Kit Kat to celebrate the 5th anniversary of Universal Studios Japan.

▼ There were also Kit Kats with cars…

▼ A pancake-flavoured collaboration with Rilakkuma…

▼ And Kit Kats packed in cans and cartons.

▼ There were even some shinkansen-shaped packs as well.

▼ Plus, we got to feast our eyes on the famous gold-plated Kit Kat!

Browsing the Kit Kat Museum is a great way to spend a relaxing hour or two in the middle of busy Harajuku.
