This new eatery is transporting diners to another world with its special menu and atmospheric rooms.
Yokohama’s Chinatown district is known for having an exotic atmosphere that makes visitors feel like they’ve left Japan and stepped into a different Asian country. Now, there’s an entirely new type of eatery tucked away in the area, and this one is taking diners off to a fairy tale world. Called the Beauty & the Beast Cafe & Restaurant, the beautiful space is one of the hottest new places to dine in Yokohama, with a creative menu and cleverly designed rooms bringing the world of the original French fairy tale to life in Japan.
▼ The castle-like setting is divided into three main areas, including the Tavern…
▼ The Beast’s Room…
▼ And the chandelier-lit Palace Floor.
▼ The fairytale setting even extends to the beautiful rest room areas.
On the menu, the most popular dish is the “Belle Lunch”, which includes salad, soup and a drink for 1,800 yen (US$17.85). The centrepiece of the meal is a beautiful rice-filled omelette in the shape of Belle in her ball gown, surrounded by a demi-glace sauce.
The menu features a wide variety of food and drinks all centred around the “Beauty and the Beast” theme. With Belle spelt “Bell” on their latte art, it’s clear that this is no Disney-run establishment!
Opened in August this year, the restaurant offers a number of dinner courses and party plans alongside their a la carte menu. Whether you’re on a romantic date or with a group of friends, it’s a great place to stop for a meal while visiting Yokohama.
