It’s like they knew exactly which beloved characters were missing in our hearts and our collections.

Last year, during the build-up to the release of Star Wars Episode VII, we presented to our readers three ukiyo-e prints that reveled in Japanese tradition but completely embodied the Force. The beautiful prints featured Darth Vader, an AT-AT fighting in the Battle of Hoth, and Queen Amidala with R2-D2. The limited number of each one, along with the hefty price tag, kept a lot of us from picking them up, but there was no denying the fact that the quality and craftsmanship couldn’t be rivaled. Until round two, that is…

This time around, in preparation for the release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, three brand-new prints have been created. Is it possible that these new prints outshine the original trilogy?

Boba Fett, Darth Maul and the Millenium Falcon are all iconic characters in the Star Wars universe, so it’s a real treat to see them depicted in a traditional Japanese art style. The prints will be available for pre-order on November 16 and as with the previous set, they will certainly make a dent in your bank account. At 50,000 yen (US$487.10), the Darth Maul and Boba Fett ukiyo-e can be purchased separately, but you will have to purchase a full set for 150,000 yen ($1,460.50) in order to own the Millennium Falcon print. Disney might be taking a big risk with Rogue One in December, but if it turns out to be half as good as these beautiful prints, they will definitely have a hit on their hands.
