Looking for a pair of cool kicks that scream “Japan”? Then look no further than these special Reebok Insta Pump Furys, which feature two of Japan’s cutest and most beloved characters.
The red-and-white sneakers with big bright bows on the left of the image above instantly give the game away as to who they’re meant to be representing. These ones have been made in honour of the world-famous Hello Kitty, and come in two different styles for kids and adults.
▼ Grown-ups on the left, kids on the right.
▼ The kids’ kicks are covered in a cute design featuring Kitty’s signature red bow.
The adult shoes come with even more design features, including Kitty’s face on a black background on the back…
▼ Kitty’s face on the pump…
▼ And insoles covered in Hello Kitty bows.
Gudetama, Sanrio’s lazy egg character, is also set to star on a pair of yellow-and-white Reebok Insta Pump Fury OGs.
▼ Gudetama’s face appears on the pump…
▼ And on the back of the shoes, above a cracked eggshell design on the heel.
The sneaker collaboration is timed for the 25th anniversary of the Insta Pump Fury and the 45th anniversary of Hello Kitty’s birth. And while the sneakers go on sale in Japan from 23 September, the good news is they plan to release these worldwide shortly after.
The adult-sized sneakers will retail for 21,600 yen (US$200.84) plus tax, while the children’s style will retail for 7,009 yen.
