If you can’t help feeling that your controller lacks a little regality or that you’d rather squish Goombas in a lighter shade of murder, we’ve got good news for you. From the end of this month, you’ll be able to pick up a special edition Princess Peach-themed Wii remote, Nintendo has announced.
Alas, there are currently only plans to release the remote – which follows in the footsteps of previously released Mario and Luigi-themed controllers – in North America, but with any luck gamers elsewhere will eventually be able to pick one up too.
Coming complete with MotionPlus technology for greater precision, the new Wii-mote is made of Princess Peach pink plastic and features sky-blue plus, minus, and Home buttons, as well as a gold-coloured directional pad at the top and a royal crown insignia over the speaker section of the remote. We have to admit, it’s kind of cute.
And when we look at Piichi-Hime and the remote side-by-side, we think they did a pretty good job of recreating a humanoid character as a video game controller, too!

The Peach-themed remote will retail for US$39.99 and go on sale from April 24. If you live outside of North America, now might be a good time to start bugging Nintendo and demanding that they release the remote in your country too.
