Just the other day, we brought you news of HACOSTADIUM, a photography studio equipped with over 40 backdrops to create all of your dream cosplay scenarios. But let’s take one step back now–just where are you supposed to design those fabulous costumes in the first place?
Introducing CosBox (コスバコ), a rentable room outfitted with all of your costume-making needs. It just opened this month in the Akihabara district of Tokyo, and its managers are offering some serious opening month deals. Whether you’re a diehard cosplay fanatic or are just breaking into the hobby, CosBox may be the perfect place to prepare for your next big convention!
CosBox is the perfect solution for cosplayers who don’t have quite the right sewing equipment at home or who are just looking for a larger space to work on group cosplay endeavors with friends. Up to four people of the same sex are allowed to rent the facility at a time, and with two sewing machines, one overlock machine/serger, a combination printer/scanner/copier/fax machine, ample sewing supplies such as colored threads and even mannequins, and a 180cm (71 in.) x 90cm (35 in.) table to work on, you won’t find yourself cramped for space. The official site even suggests that you use the computer provided to edit your photos into cosplay business cards!
Even better, the room is rentable for blocks of time during the daytime, nighttime, or for a full day–whatever caters to your schedule. Folks who stay overnight will be pleased to read that there is also a bathroom and refrigerator for your personal use.
