Tesla Cosplay are an all-female group who describe themselves as “five girls from Oregon who decided to add a little ‘awesome’ to their lives”. And looking at these photos from their recent Princess Mononoke shoot on location, we think they’ve achieved that aim!
The series was shot by Portland-based photographer Jason DeSomer, in the forest near Opal Creek, a wilderness area in Oregon. The deep forest is the perfect backdrop for cosplaying Princess Mononoke, with the moss-covered rocks and lush green tones mimicking the scenery of the movie perfectly.
The group also made the neat decision of anthropomorphising Yakul, depicting the elk in human form.
▼ All kinds of awesome.
Another running theme is the use of the river to shoot beautifully coloured reflections. The combination of painstakingly made cosplay outfits, and stunning background visuals makes this a stand-out photo series.
