Artist helps “entrepreneurial” Pokemon with clever business logos and concepts

Have you ever wondered what comes next for Pokémon after they’ve evolved to their final stage? Some of them, according to one graphic designer, have ventured away from their Poké-world and entered the small business world.

Pictogram, a graphic design company headed by Sebastiaan de With, created business logos for a variety of Pokémon. Each Pokémon’s “company” is also somehow related to its abilities and comes with a back story. Aside from the amusing concept, the logos themselves are top-notch, so along with us and check them out!.

The whole premise behind this creative idea started with de With’s very fertile imagination proposing the “Pokémon Corporate Personhood Act of 2015, as spearheaded by Professor OAK.” Under this act, Pokémon are free to start their own businesses. However, in order to be successful, a business can always use a nice, attractive logo. So, de With generously donated his time and effort to the success of these Poké-companies by making them killer “visual identities.”

Apparently, this whole project was just for fun, as de With was a childhood (and clearly, current) fan of the Pokémon game franchise and wanted to get the monsters involved in his work. He originally started this project back in 2009, but it took a few years to evolve, if you will, into its current form. Although he worked hard on them, de With never expected these logos to take off, in fact, he was surprised that they got any recognition at all. But being such awesome designs, how could they have not gained the world’s attention?

Aside from the blatant Pokémon names in some of the designs, taken out of context, we could easily believe that these were real logos for real companies. We hope more Pokémon graduate business school, so de With will make more of these in future.
