The Sailor Moon girls are bringing their gorgeous meals and treats to Osaka for the very first time.

Sailor Moon fans after a taste of their favourite warrior were over the moon last year when Anion Station, a cafe and bar operated by Namco in Tokyo’s Shinjuku neighbourhood, brought out a themed menu in honour of the girls’ Crystal series.

Now it’s Kansai’s turn to get a dose of the magical warriors, with Anion Station Osaka hosting a Sailor Moon Crystal cafe filled with drinks, meals, sweets and merchandise, all with gorgeous details that fans will love.

While some of the menu items look similar to the ones that were available at the Tokyo cafe, this time they’ll be “Namba versions” in recognition of the local Namba neighbourhood, complete with takoyaki octopus balls, a well-known speciality of the region.

▼ The food menu includes Usagi’s Not-So-Well-Made Rice Omelette for 1,000 yen (US$8.46). The Namba version includes two takoyaki balls on the side which are said to look like o-dango, or Japanese rice dumplings, in the same shape as Usagi-chan’s hairstyle.

▼ The dessert menu will include Crystal Star Pancakes (1,000 yen) in the shape of a light and fluffy Crystal Star Compact.

▼ Clockwise, from top let: Pink Moon Tiara (peach-flavoured lemonade); Pink Sugar Strawberry (strawberry with Calpis); Blue Aqua Mist (pineapple soda with Calpis); Berry Berry Demons Disperse (cranberry and strawberry flavour); Melon Flower Hurricane (rose syrup and melon soda); Orange Crescent Beam (mango and orange soda).

And if you’re after something to take home, there are a number of original goods available for purchase. The lineup includes a white-and-pink towel-style muffler, travel mugs, key holders and clear files.

While you eat, you’ll also be able to watch episodes of Sailor Moon Crystal on the big screen! Before you go, though, you’ll need to make an advance reservation online. Anticipating an enormous number of patrons, each reservation is limited to only 90 minutes, with places already filling up rapidly.

The cafe is only open for a limited time, from 16 January to 14 February, so if you’d like to stop by to sample the menu, be sure to secure your reservation as early as possible to avoid missing out!
