The awesome merchandise included in the special reward points program makes this the ultimate credit card for anime vocaloid fans.
If there’s one thing we love about banking in Japan, it’s the chance to score some adorable looking credit cards that you can’t get anywhere else in the world. So far, we’ve seen cards decorated with characters from Evangelion, Attack On Titan, Sailor Moon, and even Pokémon, and now one of Japan’s largest banks, Sumitomo Mitsui, is bringing out a Hatsune Miku MasterCard, to the delight of vocaloid fans across the country.
Produced in collaboration with the vocaloid’s creators, Crypton Future Media, the gorgeous-looking card is a follow-up to the Hatsune Miku Visa card they released in September last year. Featuring an all-new design, early birds who apply for the card will also be able to receive some exclusive limited-edition items.
▼ The first 3,000 people to apply will receive a bonus stationery file.
▼ The first 2,000 people to include the e-money “iD” option when signing up will receive an original iD sticker.
The points program also offers a number of different rewards that fans will love, like one of 100 original card cases for those who spend the equivalent of 600 points.
▼ One of 100 graphic T-shirts for those who reach 1,000 points.
▼ And one of 50 carry cases for those who spend 5,000 points.
As a special bonus, 50 people who spend 70,000 yen or more on the card between 9 September and 31 December will go into the running to win a Nendoroid Jumbo Hatsune Miku (Metallic Version) figurine. Holders of last year’s Hatsune Miku Visa card are also eligible to enter the campaign.
Early applications for the exclusive MasterCard will be available at the Hatsune Miku “Magical Mirai 2016” event, which will be held at the Makuhari Messe International Exhibition Hall in Chiba Prefecture from 9 – 11 September. Online applications will be accepted from the bank’s dedicated page from 14 September.
