Ah, garlic. It’s so fragrant and delicious. These days, cooks are using fresh garlic even for everyday dishes because it’s just so tasty and relatively easy to use. There’s just one small problem: getting that papery skin off the clove without ending up with bits of it all over the kitchen! More people would probably use that delicious, delicious garlic if it didn’t make such a mess.
No need to worry about that any more, though, because we’ve discovered a simple tip that will remove those pesky skins cleanly and easily. Read on to discover how.
This top-secret kitchen hack has just three simple steps.
1. Cut the root end off the garlic clove.
2. Soak the clove in hot water for five minutes.
3. Then just peel the skin off as usual.
Doesn’t get much easier than that. The pesky skin just pops right off, no mess, no fuss! Give this little trick a try, and it’ll have you dancing around the kitchen, yelling, “But it’s so eeeeeeeeasy!” OK, maybe that was just me.
Here it is, photo by photo, for those who struggle to boil water:

This is a head of garlic.

It breaks apart into individual cloves.

First, cut off the root ends on your cloves.

Then soak for five minutes in hot water.

Then just peel off the skin!

The skin should come off in one clean piece. Presto!

Get in my mouth, you delicious thing.

This tip is a huge time saver when you have to prepare a lot of garlic.

Ta da! Give it a try, cooks!
