You really never know who you are going to meet when traveling. That’s one of the things that makes it so enjoyable. But imagine our surprise when we ran into the leader of the free world in an isolated hot spring town in Kyushu! It might have something to do with the name of the place though…
Welcome to Obama, Kyushu, a small fishing town that also boasts some spectacular hot springs. Not only can you soak in a piping hot bath next to the ocean, the main spring is one of the hottest in Japan at over 100 degrees Celsius (about 212F), so you can cook your food in it too!
Perhaps it’s the reported health benefits of those sulfuric waters that attracted the POTUS because, if you look closely, he seems to be having some skin trouble.
▼Really, you might want to have a doctor look at that… and your suspiciously orange skin tone. It’s like you and Boehner had a love child.
▼Posing with some local park rangers. Notice the strategic use of flowers to cover up his diseased hand.
Whatever his reasons for being there, we hope Obama had as good a time in Obama as we did!
▼Best towel ever.
