Anybody can cosplay, but achieving beautiful cosplay photos raises the difficulty level by quite a fair bit. You can tailor the perfect costume, create the most realistic props, complete the look with impeccable makeup, and practice to get every pose spot on, but a suitable backdrop isn’t always easily available.
Finding an appropriate backdrop to compliment your cosplay would be much easier if you were in Japan though. HACOSTADIUM is a mega photography studio that has over 40 different backdrops ranging from Japanese rooms to gothic chambers, and even prison cells! More details and photos of the actual studios after the jump!
HACOSTADIUM TOKYO.one is situated, ironically, in Minami-Funabashi of Chiba Prefecture, which is a 24-minute train ride away from Tokyo Station via the JR Keiyo Line. Definitely not your typical photo studio, HACOSTADIUM TOKYO.one seems more like a theme park for cosplayers instead as it houses over 40 backdrop setups, an in-house cafe and shop that retails cosplay related goods, and even provides a range of free services that includes unlimited usage of a wide variety of props for your photoshoot! Check out these awesome backdrops!
▼ Floor plan
The studio has lockers and changing rooms, and even a dressing area fully equipped with hair irons and hair dryers. On top of that, they also provide free amenities such as makeup cleansers and wig spray. How generous!
Other services include the rental (some free) of equipment such as tripods, camera batteries and cordless LED lighting. You can even rent a camera from them, the first two hours are on the house!
▼ They also have a great selection of free props including food samples, music instruments, sports equipment and more!
