If you’ve been spending an inordinate amount of time on the internet over the past few years (haha, who are we kidding, of course you have), then you’ll probably be familiar with the trend of balancing stuff on your pets. It’s practically an old meme now, but for some reason it seems to be having a revival on Twitter in Japan. Two doting pet owners tweeted some choice snaps of their fuzzy buddies practically buried under a mountain of… stuff, and it’s totally squee-worthy! Join us after the jump for some very unamused but amusing pets!
First up, we have an adorable parakeet covered in sunflower seeds!

考えたことありませんか?笑

▲ “Everyone, have you ever wondered how many sunflower seeds you could fit on a parakeet? Well, I have found the answer!”
▼How beautiful is the colouring on this parakeet? It looks like a lemon sorbet with a hint of peach. Topped with sunflower seeds, of course.

▼ Okay seriously, how many sunflower seeds can one bird hold?
Next up is our kitty entry! Covered in toy mice this time. (It’s kind of a theme – pets plus their fave snacks, perhaps?!)

▲ “I tried covering my cat with felt mice! I’d like to try it on a parakeet, though…”
▼ Cats are known for their stoic nature, making them the perfect subject for piling stuff on.
▼ Is it just us, or do these mice look sort of… hungry? If we were this kitty, we’d be a little freaked out, too!
While piling stuff on your pet is undeniably cute, it’s kind of obvious that the animals in these pics aren’t exactly loving it. Still, it makes for a great photo opportunity!
