If you ever thought Eren from Attack on Titan needed a Sailor Moon-esque costume change sequence, your prayers have been answered.

Attack on Titan is a pretty serious manga. Earth is in turmoil, the humans that are left are desperately fighting back against gigantic titans that fancy people as snacks, and there is only one Japanese person left in the entire world.

But that doesn’t mean the heroes of Attack on Titan couldn’t use a bit of Japanese-inspired flair when they’re getting ready for combat.

Clearly inspired by the costume change sequences of Sailor Moon, this fabulous power-up sequence shows just how Eren turns from normal human, to hulking titan.

Attack on Titan already has a fairly strong female audience, but maybe they would pick up a few more if they started including these sort of sequences before the action scenes. There’s nothing else that pumps you up for an intense battle like a titan-prism transformation. In the name of humanity, Eren will punish you!
