It’s been a long wait since this exciting lineup was announced, but cute things come to those who wait!
On August 3, Sanrio is rolling out their first-ever collaboration with My Melody and Sailor Moon with an adorable lineup of merchandise. The goods are part of Sailor Moon’s ongoing “25th anniversary celebrations” and includes a total of 22 different items. They were designed with the concept “yume-kawaii” or “so cute it’s like a dream” in mind.
In this lineup, you’ll find everything from lunch boxes to adorable Luna and My Melody plushies. They’re separated into interior goods, lunch goods, and stationery. Some of the more luxurious items like the plushies and cushions will run you about 3,024 yen (US$27.50), but most of the stationery items like notebooks and sticker sets are available for 432 yen. The most expensive item in the lineup is actually a tea table, which is priced at 3,780 yen.
▼ The items are cute and fanciful, based on classic Sailor Moon and Sanrio shades of pastel blues, pinks, and lavenders.
▼ There are also plenty of stars, moons, and ribbons that are sure to awaken nostalgia in any Sailor Moon fan!
You’ll be able to order these items starting on August 3 at online Sanrio shops, Rakuten, and Yahoo. They’ll also be available at Sanrio stores and corners around Japan, Sanrio Puroland, and Harmony Land.
If you’re in Tokyo and want to snag some merchandise as early as July 29, you can do so by attending the official Sailor Moon x My Melody Collaboration Fan Meeting to be held at Sanrio Puroland in Tokyo. The event includes a Sailor Moon Musical performance, as well as an appearance by My Melody herself. The first part of the event begins at 4:00 p.m., and the second part begins at 6:30 p.m.
Tickets cost 6,000 yen, which includes entry to the rest of Puroland. If you’re in the Sailor Moon fan club, you can apply for tickets here, beginning on June 17. Regular ticket sales will be available to purchase on July 2 from this site.
Whether you can go to the fan meeting or not, there’s no doubt that My Melody and Sailor Moon fans have a lot to look forward to this summer!
