The most sinister Pokémon of all crashes the Pikachu Outbreak festivities.

As you’d guess from its name, Pikachu is the star of the Pikachu Outbreak celebration that runs through August 15 in the city of Yokohama. However, on the second-to-last day of the event another Pokémon species managed to steal the beloved Electric-type’s thunder.

As part of the festivities, Yokohama Stadium, home of the local pro baseball team the Baystars, was transformed into the Pokémon GO Stadium. Lucky attendees who managed to score a ticket to the fan event were promised something special, and the organizers delivered when, on the evening of August 14, Legendary Pokémon Mewtwo made its Pokémon GO debut on the stadium grounds.

With his arrival heralded by pyrotechnics, Mewtwo appeared on the stadium’s center-field screen as attendees joined forces for one of Pokémon GO’s newly added Raid Battles.

And as an extra dose of generosity, Mewtwo was also incredibly easy to capture after falling in battle, with payers quickly taking to social media to share pics and video of their latest acquisition.

With the Pokémon GO Stadium event being only a one-night affair, Mewtwo has since gone back into hiding. But now that he exists in the game, it’s only a matter of time before he pops up in other parts of the world too.
