The Pokémon Cafe is about to get even more legendary!
The Pokémon Cafe, located conveniently close to Tokyo Station, has been a big hit since its opening in March 2018. Most recently, longtime fans were particularly excited to see the incorporation of certain Pokémon from the Johto region, popularized in 1999’s Pokémon Gold and Silver, into the cafe’s menu this May.
Now there’s a new reason to get excited, because in just under a week the Pokémon Cafe will release a new round of second-generation Pokémon menu items by celebrating Ho-Oh and Lugia, the mascots of Pokémon Gold and Silver, respectively.
First up on the new menu is a dessert paying tribute to Lugia, Guardian of the Seas. The Lugia and Whirl Islands kakigori (shaved ice) dessert plate features a delightfully refreshing lemon flavor and costs 1,922 yen (US$18).
▼ Psychic/Flying-type Lugia’s Pokémon Cafe debut
Second up is a dessert inspired by Ho-Oh, Guardian of the Skies. The Ho-Oh and Rainbow Wing ice cream dessert plate features plenty of summery strawberry flavor and also costs 1,922 yen.
▼ Fire/Flying-type Ho-Oh’s Pokémon Cafe debut
These dessert plates will be available for a limited time at the Pokémon Cafe between July 20-September 6, so make sure to make your online reservation soon.
