Well, it’s been a heck of a week for porn in Japan. Though no one has lost any money (at least not yet), this story might end with someone losing their job.
On Wednesday, a group of first year middle school students in Mannou, Kagawa Prefecture were inadvertently exposed to a “lewd” video. At school! And, no, this wasn’t someone “accidentally” clicking the wrong Google search result.
Apparently the school’s English teacher, an unnamed Japanese man in his fifties, brought his DVD player from home to show the students The Sound of Music. Possibly to ensure that their interest in the language is so low that he never has to grade homework again. Jeez, why not just show them Gigli and be done with it?
Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your point of view), when some students went to set up the DVD player, a pornographic video which had been left in the dock started playing. It is reported that the poor, horribly unlucky students were only exposed to a few seconds of the video before they managed to stop it. (And if you believe that, there’s a bridge we’d like to sell you.)
▼Probably wishes he’d just stuck with a black board now.
Since it was during a break between classes, only two students were lucky…sorry, unlucky enough to be exposed to such vile filth.
When questioned, the teacher admitted that the disc was in fact his. He’d simply left it in the device and, having not used the DVD player for a while, forgotten about it.
Now, the only questions that remain are: what kind of adult videos do English teachers in Kagawa Prefecture enjoy? (We really hope it wasn’t one that featured “naughty students.”) And how did this make national news?!
The Internet, of course, responded with their own additions to this story:
- If it were Omanko, Kagawa, there’s not much you could do about it.
(Editor’s comment: “Manko” is a slang word referring to women’s genitals. Please do not use it with your Japanese friends. Especially in public.) - Middle schools can’t even stock DVD players now?
- What a sad state this country is in when teachers have to use their personal items at school.
- Well, the first question we need answered is: what genre??
- For them to figure it out in only one or two seconds…it must have been at the absolute peak or right at the finish. (Editors comment: Ewwwwwwwwwwwww!)
- Maybe it was part of sex education?
You can even watch a news report on the incident here. Be warned: it’s all Japanese and there’s not any…um…example footage. But you can see what the school looks like!
