I don’t know about you, but I am not good with plants; I can never keep them alive. It’s okay though, because now I might stand a chance with pot planters designed to resemble the Shishi god from Studio Ghibli’s Princess Mononoke.
The Shishi god is the flesh and blood form of a forest spirit (it kind of resembles an elk) who controls the giving and taking of life. The front of the planter is carved to look like his majestic face, while the back has the mask worn by San, the wolf-girl. So hopefully, with my plant in a decorative pot shaped like the head of the Shishigami, I may have better luck keeping plants alive, right?

The planter will be available for 3,000 yen (US$25) in February 2015 (a little late for a Christmas present). It is made and sold by Donguri Kyowakoku (Acorn Republic), a store that specializes in creating goods based on Studio Ghibli characters.
If you aren’t into plants, but really into Princess Mononoke, they have plenty of other goods for you to choose from too.
