Happy New Year! At the start of the new year in Japan many stores release fukubukuro, or lucky bags, where you can get a selection of goodies for less than they usually retail for, as well as limited edition items. People rush around the stores picking up fukubukuro from all their favourite brands, but often the items inside are a secret. We’re here to reveal some of them so you can make an informed decision on which to go for.
Here we have Starbucks Coffee’s offering, which sells for 3,500 yen (US$29). Read on to find out what’s inside!
The 2015 Starbucks Coffee fukubukuro contains:
- House blend 250g
- Starbucks Via Coffee Essence assortment set
- 330ml stainless steel bottle
- Greetings card containing coupon for one free drink
And it’s all contained in a stylish tote bag with an unobtrusive Starbucks logo in the bottom corner.
The store our writer purchased their bag at sold out within an hour, but in his opinion the contents don’t warrant its popularity since you can pick them up individually at most stores. However, for diehard Starbucks fans the bag alone will probably be worth the price. If you want to get your hands on it you’d better hurry out to your nearest store now!
▼All the goodies from inside the bag.
▼The greetings card is exclusive to the 2015 fukubukuro, so collectors will definitely want to pick this up.
What do you think of this year’s fukubukuro? Do you think it’s worth the price? Let us know in the comments section below.
